For instance, the Kinjiro Soft, a creamy soft-serve ice cream made with fresh milk from Yamanaka Farm in Akigawa Village, Hokkaido, pays homage to Sontoku. It’s garnished with a cookie shaped like his iconic statue.
You can also enjoy “Gojiru,” a soup made from mashed soybeans that was a favorite of Ninomiya Sontoku. This dish is enhanced by a specially prepared dashi (broth) crafted by the head chef of the Hōtoku Hall, offering a rich and aromatic flavor. The café also features a variety of souvenirs, including sweets, making it a perfect spot to pick up memorable keepsakes.
